Justin Robson

             artist and sculptor

Background

Justin Robson is an Australian artist. He studied with the National Art School and, more recently, with the highly acclaimed Italian sculptor, Giovani Balderisi.

He has a 30 year background as a commercial sculptor creating animated props and models for film, television, events and displays.

He began his career as an apprentice model maker in 1982 but soon set up his own business, Watusi, specialising in commercial sculpting. He has won numerous local and international awards and accolades for his work. Justin's business interests support his artistic endeavours.

Justin began his public art career by creating a bronze of Queen Victoria's dog in 1983, which still sits outside the Queen Victoria building in Sydney's Town Hall today. Soon after, along with fellow artist Lloyd Kellerman, he created an aboriginal mosaic at the Bondi Beach Pavilion which is now listed on the National Trust Register.

With a strong hankering to realise his own artistic ideas, Justin now focuses on continuing his fine art sculpting and is exploring the art of life casting as a form of expression.
